It is not only the pure weight of the stylus system that plays a role in the load-bearing capacity of the probe head. Above all, a high tilting moment due to a one-sided design of the probe systems must be avoided. To avoid such tilting moments, it is advisable to use a counterweight that can compensate for one-sided deflection. However, the total weight of the stylus system must also be taken into account when using a counterweight.
